Weather. Ugh.

So Hannah said yesterday that it was snowing in Chicago (I actually talked to one of my customers in Chicago yesterday afternoon who complained about the same thing - ha!).  I threw in my bit about how we're going to a pool party on Saturday, and my dad (who is from NY) thinks it's SO cool that we can swim in Texas on Easter weekend.

Well, for anyone who was jealous about that, let me just say that it is officially 90 degrees here today.  Ugh!  We had a beautiful spring, but it appears that it's over, and we are well on our way to summer.

I put Dottie outside for about 15 minutes, and she barked once (which means she's ready to come in) and when I went to get her, she was just laying on the ground panting.  I don't think she's ready for this either!

Re: Weather. Ugh.

  • That sucks. I don't care for heat, especially with humidity mixed in, but it's been so schizophrenic here the last few weeks.  It's 60 one day, and then it's 40 and raining the next. One day, it was 40something when I went to work, and in the 70s when I came home. I'm tired of dressing for 3 different seasons in one day! I can't wait until it's consistently above 60.

  • I hear you! what happened to spring it was over to quick...it's not 90 yet but it's like 86...so it's getting there! I am excited to go lay out by the pool tho!!

  • 38 degrees and raining here.  I guess it's better than the snow we got yesterday.  I'm so ready for summer already!

  • Wow!  That's crazy that it's already that hot.  Another reason I love Jersey, we are having a nice cool 70ish degree Spring.  I can definitely wait till June for 90's.

    Similiar here.

Last night we went to the Cubs game.  I had one 3 pairs of gloves/mittens and was still freezing!

I thought about you this morning Megan, yesterday's snow total was only 0.6 inches, but it broke the record for most snow on April 18th in Chicago.

And as much as I hate the cold, I think I'd rather be cold than hot b/c you can always put more layers on!  I feel like it'd be really difficult to be pregnant when it's that hot!!

  • Ugh, I cannot stand the heat and am not looking forward to summer time at all.  In Maryland the average summer day is between 90-105 and always so humid; I hate it.  Lately we've been jumping back and forth between 50-70 most days but the last week has been nothing but rain.  I'd prefer rain over heat any day though.

  • Erica - you're totally right - the humidity is killer.  According to my phone (which has a weather app for my zip code), the heat index is 93.  No wonder Dottie had no desire to be out there!

Kearstin - I'm a little jealous!  I'd much rather have 70 degree weather than 90 with a pool party (I've not been big on swimming in the past few years anyway...not to mention that no one wants to see me in a swim suit right now!).

You mean you aren't going to be in a bikini with your belly painted as a beach ball??

Yeah, I'm pretty thankful that he'll be born before we get to the SUPER hot months of August and September.  I can't imagine being due like in Sept/Oct.  That would suck big time.

Xan - I had no idea it got so hot in Maryland in the summer.

Well, while that would be really, really hot, it's just not that type of party!  Haha!  If only it weren't an Easter party.  Darn!

Yeah it's awful and it's only been the last few years or so.  I remember being younger and thinking it was super hot when it was in the high 80's...now we pray for 80 degree days in the summer.  Last summer our AC broke during the week it was over 100 every single day...that was fun.  People around here had their 4th of July parties inside because no one could stand to be outside; it was insane.  I am hoping it's not as hot this summer, but I'm pretty sure it will be.

  • Hannah it was just a random search.

I agree, it's weird that someone actually did this.  However, when I googled painted pregnant belly, this may have been the least weird of them all lol  People do something crazy things with their prego bellies!
