Moms - bedtime issues

Ever since B and I got back from vacation, B2 refuses to take naps or go to bed at night. Monda he didnt go to sleep until 10:15!

Prior to us going on vacation, every day was like clock work. Up at 7am, 2 hour nap during the day and in bed and lights out at 8:30pm.

I'm losing my mind over this. How do I get us back on track.

HELP!

Re: Moms - bedtime issues

  • About 2 months ago Abby went through the same thing. I was beyond frustrated b/c she too is like clockwork! Never had a problem since she was 6 weeks old. After a week of her not wanting her nap and screaming bloody murder at bedtime, I had, had enough. I just let her cry it out. It was crazy ... it seriously was 1 night only and she did scream for probably 60 min. I went in several times to lay her down, finally I gave up and didn't go back in. She never has cried since! I have no idea what her deal was. So I would just let him cry it out. He will be fine. He is not in crib though is he? A2 in still in her crib so it probably was easier. As I said before until she is climbing out I'm not moving her.
  • Nope. He is in a toddler bed with a gate at his door. So he is getting out of bed, walking to the gate and yelling "mommy".

I'm glad you asked this.  A will take her naps and go to sleep at night, but she wakes up and always has.   We rock her to sleep and then lay her in her crib. If she gets up when we are putting her in the crib, we won't pick her back up, we just sit in the chair and tell her it is ni-night time. (we just started doing this a few mths ago) and you can't leave the room until she is asleep or she screams.  She was getting up around 2am for a bottle and then going back to sleep.  We have since stopped the bottle.  Now she gets up around 1230 - 130 and wants you to rock her back to sleep.   If you don't pick her up and just sit in the chair, she screams/cries.  We are at a loss.  The other night, I sat there for over an hour and she would not go back to sleep, so I left and let her cio.  Her cio is crying just a little or yelling mommy/daddy and then stopping, then repeat..etc.  I went in a couple times to lay her back down and then just gave up.  After an hour.  DH went in and picked her up because she was hysterical at at this point.  She was up for another hour and he ended up giving her a bottle and then she passed out (him rocking her).   We are exhausted and at a loss as to what to do.
