My husband leaves tomorrow for 10 days in England - and I am jealous.
Not because it's England, not because it's 10 days away from here, not because he'll be seeing his sister and her adorable children (Ok, I am a bit jealous about that) - - - but because England is having a HEAT WAVE!
While we get snow and cold in MN, the forecast for the next week in London is high 70s and sunny.
England is supposed to be dreary and wet, grey and cold - and hardly ever reach the high 70s even in the peak of summer!
NOT. FAIR.
Re: I'm SO jealous!!
Wow! He's really lucky for the nice weather there. When I went to England in the spring, I read a brochure that said in the spring it's 60-70's so I packed for spring clothes but....when I got there is was extremely windy, rained every day, and was in the 40-50's. I had to buy a jacket while I was there. England was beautiful though so I can't complain about that.
Hope he has a safe trip.
Hahaha - it was a total joke. Completely lame, I know - but I couldn't resist! DH is not into that sort of thing and would probably refuse to play for the royals if asked (he says his extreme dislike for them is due to his French blood!).
Funny thing - I'm emailing with a friend of his there (married to a friend of mine, so it isn't weird) - and in one single email, his friend, who is VERY British, has used the following terms:
Splendid
chew over old times
Shall (used multiple times)
blimey
Glorious (describing the weather - grrrr!)
Cracking (as in "have a cracking easter!")
Cheers
Reading that and then thinking of DH, I can see just how UN-British he is! He's becoming such an American in many ways!
