cheap things to do city/burbs?
$$ is tight and we're bored! what are some fall festivals, activities, etc. that are less expensive to do in the city or burbs?

I agree with the pp on Time Out Chicago- there is usually a lot of things in there include festivals and such. I think they have a section for free events/activities. We love to just walk around different neighborhoods - this time of year is perfect for that. We have been doing a lot of walks in different Nature Preserves- they are pretty right now and all a little bit different.
