You know your vision is shot when...
You find one contact very shriveled up and hard stuck to your laptop and you didn't even notice you haven't had one in for probably the entire day because you're used to the blurriness.
My vision was ruined during pregnancy but I thought it was swelling and declined new contacts and now I can't go back for 365 days from the date my vision was last checked.
So. The countdown to mid July still goes on.
Re: You know your vision is shot when...
I heard a lot of times it gets worse then corrects itself after the baby is born (swelling?)
Mine sure didn't.
My glasses are okay for the most part but DS will have a grand time ripping those off of my face for sure.
I was thinking the same thing!
Is it weird that I am more afraid of stretch marks than I am of bigger feet? I am TERRIFIED of stretch marks, and I am certain I will get them.
Hmm. My feet never grew. They swelled, don't get me wrong, but I could always get a pair of flats on if they were soft leather. Forget about heels once I hit 3rd tri.
The swelling subsided within a week of having him.
I never got stretch marks, which really surprised me because I have quite a few on my hips from puberty.
My mom's feet grew with each pregnancy-- I really don't know what I'd do if they grew any more! Stretch marks... not worried about them because ehh, who really sees my stomach-- I don't have a bikini body!
Waiting for new contacts is the worst. I had to do that this year when my vision changed all of a sudden for no apparent reason. I was able to go to the eye doctor with a referral through my PCP but it was going to cost like $250 for the contact lens fitting - no thank you! So basically I confirmed that my current prescription wasn't cutting it, but had to wait three more months to get new lenses. Awful.
Does this mean it's a bad idea to get LASIK surgery before having kids?
Seriously! I swear, every time I read another one of these random things, I get further and further away from TTC, heh. I also recently learned that it's possible for an induction to not take - I had no idea. I thought that was a given!
Eh, you just get a c-section.
Oh, I'm sure there are ways around it and all, and you don't stay pregnant forever. But it was just one of those things I thought always worked; I am clueless about pregnancy stuff. Having spent my 20s not wanting a kid, I blocked all of that out, heh.
I have stretch marks on my boobs from when they finally grew in at 16 so I am sure I will get some while being pregnant. Although I have not got any on my boobs as of yet, but I have only gone up one cup size so far.
This is one reason why I think induction shouldn't be done unless it's totally necessary. Doctor's don't actually know why your body goes into labor, so obviously it's hard to mimic. And an induction really increases your chances of having a c-section, which brings on a whole new set of problems (trust me, a c/s sucks).
