Sex and the City themed 30th?
My friend's 30th is next weekend and I asked her husband if he needed any help; he's asked me to do decorations.
Any decoration ideas, links to blogs, any help? TIA for any advice!!!

There's a party supply decorating pattern called "Birthday Fabulous" that has a that Pink Martini Glass / High Heel Shoe motif that is all Pink & Black.
It's produced by a company called Amscan which is big in the UK so you should be able to find it. Here's a place you can find it in the US:

Also, you could use martini glasses to hold food and snacks- there are even over-sized glasses that could hold larger food.
What about a signature drink to serve at the party?
Is this ladies only or a co-ed party?
How about framing photos of scenes of the movie? Or prining quotes from the movie on pretty paper and wrapping them around vases with white roses and pretty ribbon?
Also, b/c I think of colorful accessories when I think of SATC, how about a giant glass bowl full of oversized sunglasses, bangles, flower pins, etc? This could serve as CP/favors/photo-op creators? You can get fairly inexpensive items at stores for young women or maybe online.

Well, of course you'll have to have the Cosmopolitan. It's the SATC girls' signature drink!
I think it would be fun to have people dress as their favorite character. Conservative Charlotte, Sexy Samantha, Fashionista Carrie, Business-Chic Miranda.
Playing the movie or episodes would be fun, but maybe you'd prefer background music so people can socialize instead of try and follow something going on on the TV.
There's not much specific to the show as far as foods go, but think New York, Manhattan, sophistication. Wines and cheeses, things like that?

There are quite a few blog posts for SATC theme parties in this link. Have fun, I would have loved this theme for my 30th!
You could make some sort of pins that say "I'm a Carrie" or "I'm a Miranda", etc.
