Re: Girls with anniversaries this weekend..

  • Glad to hear you had a great anniversary! Smile Ours was very laid back since we are saving for the baby but it was great. We went out and saw a movie (Rio) Saturday night which was super cute then Sunday we had dinner out at the melting pot. It was good but definitely not 100.00 good. I think my favoriete part was the chocolate fondue and the fact that we had a lot of time to just sit there and talk to eachother. We are often so busy with other things that we tend to forget to just sit down and spend time with eachother. Unfortunately I totally forgot to ask the waiter to take our pic Sad

  • Well, our weekend started out with quite a bit of excitement.  Friday night we had tornadoes in our area.  We somehow were missed by about 2 miles from everything.  I have never been so scared in my life.  DH and I spent a good 10-15 min sitting in our bathroom waiting for everything to pass.

Saturday afternoon, we tried to have a somewhat normal day and went to see Next to Normal for our anniversary, and it was great.  Then we went to Red Lobster for dinner and had a mediocre meal.  We didn't trust the weather (it was still rainy), so we didn't want to go too far from home.

I am ready for life to calm down again, but we are supposed to get more storms and severe weather today.

    Anniversary

  • @ Julie - I'm so glad you're okay!!! I've been hearing about all this crazy weather and it's very scary.

Our anniversary weekend was a lot of fun! We left early Saturday w/ friends for the Jimmy Buffett concert in West Palm Beach (about 2 hours away). Had lunch and tailgated with some other friends that were there and then enjoyed the concert. We were able to get up early and leave yesterday. I took a much needed nap and then we ate our cake and had some champagne we've been saving since the wedding. Dom Perignon = not worth the price at all in my opinion, but our cake was incredible! I'm going to send our baker an email because I am just so impressed. Then went out to a casual but nice dinner on the water last night, and went to sleep at 8:00 p.m. :)

Pics will be on facebook soon

  • Our anniversary is today but we celebrated this weekend. We wanted to have dinner at the restaurant where we got married and they're closed on Mondays. We ended up going on Friday night, since on Saturday night we had a friend's bday dinner and Sunday night the restaurant had a special Easter buffet that we didn't want to do.

This is the first time we've been back to the park/restaurant since we got married. They made some nice changes the outside area.  There were two events going on (a wedding, and some sort of charity event), so of course I had to poke my head into "our" room. The restaurant just got a new chef and changed the menu. Everything we had was delicious!  Probably the best meal I've had since our honeymoon. When we told our waiter that we had gotten married there a year earlier, the manager gave us free dessert and champagne. We had so much fun!

The bday dinner on Saturday was really fun too, we went to a great place in NYC and there were a bunch of people I hadn't seen in a while.

Tonight I'm just going to make a nice dinner and we're going to open up one of our "special occasion" bottles of wine. Plus we'll have wedding cake of course!

  • Glad everyone had fun!  We had a nice day....saw a show in NYC (Million Dollar Quartet) and it was okay. We went to a restaurant called Nios after, if you are in the NYC area, try it!  It was small but we enjoyed the food, and it had a nice ambience!  Unfortunately, it was pouring most of the day, so we didn't enjoy walking around the city, until after 6pm when it started to clear up and we were able to walk around a little.  We got home and had our cake, which was GROSS!!!  But we had a bite, just for the sake of tradition! I'm glad I ordered our mini wedding cake for V-day or I would have been much more disappointed.

All in all, it was a nice day and I'm SO glad we didn't have such nasty weather last April 23rd!
