So Easter was just the 3 of us. The car we are borrowing right now only sits 2 people so we couldn't go anywhere. It was a bit of a challenge but I was able to make Easter dinner without the oven, using the toaster oven, crock pot and grill.
Bonus the car should be up and running this week!!!
Re: Monday Randoms...
SIL, BIL and their 3 kids came over, along with MIL and FIL. It was mostly to give the kids a chance to play together, since Baby Rebel is finally mobile and can play with the other kids. He had some fun.
Then we went out to eat with just H's parents. Baby Rebel got to try a bunch of new foods. He did really well.
It wasn't the worst day ever with his family.

Heads up - Meijer just tweeted this:
Saw it on Facebook as well. $4.17 a gallon. Sucky!!
It was still more expensive in summer 2008; I wrote it in DS's baby book and looked at it the other day.
Sucky for sure.
Time to get down my bike trailer...

Really? I don't ever remember it being this high. Granted, I have a horrible memory...
Sucky indeed. I just spent $75 at the gas station. Wah.
I got a text from Meijer. It is supposed to be going up to $4.17?
We are trying to bike whenever we can! Mike recently moved buildings for work. He is now in the building that houses the gyms and showers - so guess who is biking to work this summer!! Haha!
I plan on trying to do as much grocery shopping as possible with the bike trailer in tow. We'll see how long that lasts.
DH and SS will most likely doing that this Summer. They are stronger riders than my self. I wish the office has a show in it. Shoot if it did we would probably just set up a roll away cot for DH when he is there late.
Back in 2008 it got up to $4.25 a gallon. I wonder if we will pass that by Memorial Day?
I am meeting TH at his office at the end of the day and we are going to go to Rockford, Wolverine Worldwide outlet store to go shoe shopping for the kids. I'm looking for some Merrils for them - hopefully I can find some in the clearance section. After watching other pairs, including Stride Rite, look like crap only after a few weeks of wearing, I am all about Merrils. Even as cheap as I am. I think now that TH has seen how well Allison's Merrils held up this winter, I think he is in agreement.
The only bad thing is though, he is going to panic at the price tags. I'm debating about if I really should go with him toingiht or not. The good thing is that he can help with the kids - last time I went by myself with the kids, I was "that mom with the bad kids". However if I do go by myself, he won't know how much I spent. All I have to say is "I got a great deal on them. They were in the clearance section."
I figured for the most part, I don't splurge on the kids in terms of clothes of shoes. I get almost everything on super clearance at the end of the season. My spurgle is an outfit at Old Navy for their pictures once a year. ha ha. At least with Allison's shoes, I know Amelia can wear them.
I visited this place for the first time recently. HEAVEN.
Why would he panic at the price tags? The clearance section has insanely good prices on high quality shoes.
Because kids clearance shoes were still $40-50 when I was there last time. I'm pretty sure I spent $40 on Allison's pair and was lucky to find the pair I did. Kids clearance was very limited. The regular section is like $50-60.
Even at Stride Rite outlets he would always try to steer me towards the two pairs that were $20, rather than $30. We usually try to get one nicer brand name for their everyday wear and then 1-2 pair "nicer" (i.e. dressier) shoes at Target or Meijer for like $13.
It is funny because at times we are both cheap...well budget conscience is probably more like it. However there are times where I think certain prices are not that bad and then there are times that he teases me for being so cheap.
Hmmm, Maybe I should take a look in there for new boots for SS. He goes through shoes fast because he is so tough/rough on them.
Wow! I'm surprised they were so expensive! When I was there, I was looking at (and purchased) shoes for me that were $25-$35.
I would have assumed that kids shoes are even cheaper. Granted, I have never shopped for kids shoes before.
Hope you're able to find some better deals this time!
