As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Retirement celebration for parent?
Hi, My mom will be retiring at the end of June and I wanted to do something this summer... I'm sure her work will throw her a luncheon for retirement, but I wanted to do something in addition to celebrate. I was wondering what other people have done for their parents? I'd rather not spend a ton of money, since we're also going to be moving soon, but do want mark the milestone with something special. My bro and SIL + young kids will also be involved. Ideas?? Thanks in advance

my mom retired last summer from teaching and we did help throw a party with her friends. we rented the venue and then her school collected money for the caterer and took care of the logistics. we supplied a list of names of non-teacher friends to invite.
my mom had a great time and I am glad we did the party!
