Where should we go to dinner tomorrow night?
We're going to see Jersey Boys at the Orpheum tomorrow night. Since it doesn't start until 7:30 and H will just meet me down here after work, I figured we'd have plenty of time to fit a nice dinner in. Coincidentally, it's also our anniversary.
So, what's your favorite dinner spot downtown?

Re: Where should we go to dinner tomorrow night?
I've only ever been to The Melting Pot and Hell's Kitchen. Personally, I'd choose TMP over HK for an Anniversary dinner though.
Happy (early) Anniversary!
We're kind of going out.
Well, I went to Google and found the closet restaurants to the Orpheum. The following restaurants are within a mile of the Orpheum: Solera (it is right next to it), D?Amico Kitchen (across the street), Palomino, Rock Bottom Restaurant, Capital Grille, Dakota Jazz Club, McCormick & Schmick?s, Hell?s Kitchen.
McCormick & Schmick?s is one of my favorite restaurants ever. They are known for seafood, but have good steaks too. I love their crab cakes and I know many people whose favorite dessert is their banana cream pie. Capital Grille is known for steaks and has great food. I love their crab cakes too.
I have been to Solera, and D?Amico Kitchen (which are the closet locations) and strongly dislike them. Solera has really odd food (my husband ordered ox tail) and I went with picky and extremely non-picky people ? nobody liked it. D?Amicos also had food that was really fancy to the point it was odd ? I remember not liking the food but paying an arm and a leg for it.
Rock Bottom is the most casual IMO. My husband loves beer but doesn?t like this place, he said he has been there a few times and the beers are always warm. I am not a beer drinker and I thought it was a fun place with good food.
Capital Grille!
I also really liked The Forum.
H's Kitchen didn't trip my trigger even a teeny tiny bit.
I have to agree and I usually love what D'Amico does!
I had olive oil gelato at that place and it was......weird.
And I *think* Palomino closed? I'm bummed about that...I always had great food there!
I just had a great meal at Masa (owned by D'Amico) last weekend - highly recommended if you like (authentic) Mexican food!

You're right ... there's a Crave going into that spot. Article from the City Pages. Disappointing. I liked Pamomino, but have not been impressed with Crave.

Another Crave? Blah.
I agree with the bolded line.
I strongly disagree with the Masa recommendation. I like their margaritas, but I think their food is awful. And very much not authentic. If you're into Mexican, I'd go with Barrio.
I agree with the others who said no to D'amico Kitchen and Solera.
I really like Capital Grille. We went there for our anniversary a couple years ago and it was fantastic. I've only been to McCormick & Schmick's for their late-night happy hour, but it was really good. I LOVE Melting Pot, but the last time we went, we were there for like 2 1/2 hrs.
It's a ton of food, but have you considered Fogo de Chao?
My Cooking Blog
I think the Melting Pot is nowhere near worth the amount of money you pay for it. I think it's one of those (kind of) fun experiential restaurants that is a once-in-a-blue moon occasion (much like Ichibans in my opinion). The atmosphere in the restaurant is so-so. My $0.02. :-)
If you go to the Capital Grille and they have the truffle mac-and-cheese you MUST order it. It was OUT OF THIS FREAKING WORLD.
I wasn't all that impressed with it either. It was too dark and loud for my taste. I think I was there on a Friday night though so that could have been part of it.
I've wanted to try 112 for a while. I just went to the Wondrous Asian Kitchen, and it was decent.
We always go to Luce, but that's because I met Big D there. So, IMO, it's VERY romantic!
What about Seven? That's close. I've been there once and thought it was pretty good, but I'm not a steak eater, which is their specialty. I ordered a pasta meal, which probably wasn't the smartest thing to order in a steak place. It was good, but not spectacular. The people I was dining with who ordered steak were really happy with their meals, though. I was dining with my very snobby and pretentious Californian relatives who are never pleased with any dining in lowly Minnesota, and they all really liked Seven. The Swanky atmosphere probably helped :-)
They have a sushi bar too.

Thanks for the recs, ladies!
I'll discuss with the H tonight.

H ended up choosing, so we're going to Fogo de Chao.
We've been starving ourselves all day

Hope you're having fun! Fogo de Chao is amazing and I'm not even that into meat.
I saw Jersey Boys last week and thought it was a lot of fun. Enjoy!
