I know this is wedding related so sorry for posting on TN but I really need advice from those that have been there done that. We are getting a 30 page 12x12 album so it can be filled with prettiness however we also had it in our contract that 2 parents albums (8x8 exact copies of ours) were included. Originally I love this idea but now I have to worry about how many pictures we can put in and have it translate well to an 8x8 and am finding myself putting in pictures that we may not if it was just for us.
I am starting to wonder if it would be better to ask Chelsea not to the the parents albums and I just design one for each mom seperately, then it could be tailored more to each mom as well.
What did you guys do?
Re: Question regarding wedding albums
Yeah this is why I nixed parents albums (well, that and the cost). I wanted to make them myself for just that reason. So I made one for his mom and one for my mom and while they were similar, they were definitely tailored differently.
I would just explain your concern to Chelsea and have her help you. Maybe you could get a credit toward an anniversary shoot or something and just do them yourself. Or maybe she'd be willing to help you tailor it--show her what you want in yours and then maybe just alter the parents' albums slightly.

Just do it!
This is just my opinion, but I would have Chelsea make your album and then on your own, make your parents one.
You're right, your parents will want different pictures than you will-more than likely. I know my mom wanted a lot more "formal" type pictures. Pictures of the whole family, etc. You don't necessarily want your album full of those. Kind of boring, IMHO. That way, you can ask your parents specifically what they each want. Plus, IL's and your parents may want completely different things, as well.
IL's may want more pictures of their family-which makes sense.
So, I would make them separately.
I say do what's best for you! My perspective is different from pp, though.
We got the parents copies and they loved them. It translated really well and was basically a mini version of our album. They loved showing them to all of their friends because it is basically a perfect story of the day from beginning to end.
Both sets of parents had access to all the pictures so they were able to print/enlarge all of them they wanted for their own personal taste.
