Realtor recommendations?

Hello ladies! I'm a WI nestie but we're moving to Chicago in August. DH has been living down there in an apartment since November until our lease is up. We're thinking of renting a house for the first year then buying. Does anyone have any realtor recs for the northern part of Chicago? We're looking in the Ravenswood/Evanston area.

Thanks!!

Re: Realtor recommendations?

  • I really, really like our realtor. He has been extremely easy to get in touch with and flexible. I will PM you his name.

  • I LOVE Ryan and Nick from Starting Point realty. They specialize in first-time buyers and are sooooo helpful. Before DH moved to Chicago with me, we were considering buying vs renting. I attended one of their workshops and am SO glad I did. I learned more about home buying in a couple of hours than I ever could have hoped to learn on my own. In the end, and after consulting with Ryan, we ended up deciding that it would be better for us to continue to rent for awhile until I am done with school. Ryan was actually really helpful in that decision, and in no way tried to push us to buy, which would have obviously been better for his business.

They also send out occasional e-mail newsletters with really helpful info. Even though we won't be looking to buy for another couple of years, I still subscribe to them and save them for further reference, lol.
