Me vs. Fleas
I have my Frontline (holy moly is that stuff expensive!).
Check.
I have Dawn dishsoap (get flea "dirt" off of them before I FL them).
Check.
I have a cannister of some magic powder that gets rid of fleas and ticks from carpet and upholstery.
Check.

Re: Me vs. Fleas
DH says that we saved our pooch from certain death. Got one of our dogs from some super white trailer trash and there was a huge flea scab on her neck. My mom and I scrubbed her down with Dawn and a tiny drop of flea shampoo. We put a big blob of Neosporin on the scab and tied gauze around her neck for a bandage. Three days later at the vet it looked a zillion times better.
If she has hives, she may be allergic to fleas. My parents have to get their yorkie a shot every summer.
Good luck with that huge task. The things we do for our pets.
