We have loud birds in our neighborhood that start their "singing" at 3 o'clock every morning, it drives me crazy! With the nice weather, I love having the windows open but have to wind up closing them because of them.
I joke with DH and say they are city birds because they sing all night but are quiet during the day..ha ha.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Re: Rant: Birds
We have them too! Those damn things sit in the tree and start their chirping at 4a.m. Although I don't normally sleep on that side of the house, thank gosh. I worry about them waking up DD.
My grandmother use to put plastic snakes in her trees... I thought she was a tad bit crazy. My aunt says it was to keep them from crapping everywhere. Maybe I'll reconsider the plastic snakes for my tree.
We have lots of birds but I don't notice them singing early in the morning, I notice the frogs and geese more.
When H and I were first dating, I lived in a rowhome in Fed Hill and he lived in an Annapolis neighborhood. I remember waking up early one morning at his place and hearing a noise, which I thought was a clock chiming the hour or something. I asked him, what's that noise, do you have a cuckoo clock or something? He said, um, those would be birds outside. The sound was completely foreign to me from living in the city and not hearing them for so long.
We put the window ac in our bedroom last night--we didn't hear them at all which makes me happy. I'm going to hold out as long as I can though before putting on the central ac!
