New to Memphis

We just got married in February and used our honeymoon week to move from Orlando to Memphis for my husband's new job (I think I deserve 2 weeks of a honeymoon for that!).  Memphis is totally different for both of us - any advice on some good ways to adjust?

My husband and I just moved to Memphis as well. So far we have seen most of the sights but I know we are having trouble connecting with people. I must say that having a job has helped both my husband and I adjust but I know for me anyway it still doesn't feel like home yet. We moved here in February as well! We are also trying to get more involved in church. The hardest part for me is the crazy weather! We moved from the California coast and so the tornadoes and thunderstorms are all new to me! Kinda freaks me out a bit! I hope you are able to adjust to life here soon! I do love the town so far and I'm sure in time it will feel like home!

Hey, ya'll! Being active is the best way to make connections. Go to parks, hang out down town with your hunnies; most of us, Memphians, are really friendly; although some are reserved & usually don't start a conversation unless someone shows interest, we get along with people quite well
