Ants in my yard

I have tons of black ants everywhere. I am growing tomatoes, peppers and squash. I noticed that there were ant hills in my garden soil. Will they hurt my plants?

Probably not, but you can wipe out their mounds with one swipe.

Uh, anything. A trowel. A stick. Your hand. Your shoe. If you keep messing up their nest and knocking down their mounds, they'll go elsewhere.
