Planting dry beans

I have found information on planting dry beans such as black, navy, and pinto beans. My question is, do I pick them when they are green like green beans or do I wait until the pods are completely dry on the plant and then harvest?

I'm hoping they can be picked green and then dried...then the plant would produce more, right?
