Rec. your pool vacuum

I bought a pool vacuum 2 summers ago for my above ground pool.  It's a shark product and had a 1 year warranty.  I used it that summer and it worked well.  I went to use it last summer and I couldn't get it started.  The battery wouldn't charge.  I contacted the company and they said that since I didn't use the vacuum all winter there wasn't anything they could do.  I said my pool was closed, there wasn't a point in using the vacuum obviously.  I guess I was supposed to occasionally plug the battery in and charge it up and turn it on over the winter.  In any case, I will look into it getting fixed but I don't have high hopes so I was wondering what product you use for your vacuum in your above ground pool?  Would you rec. it?  I really don't want to spend another $200 (minimum) on a vacuum but I need something that works.

Thanks!

Re: Rec. your pool vacuum

  • We have an inground pool so the system may work differently, I'm not sure.  We just have the hose/vacuum head/pole thing that goes in the skimmer.

  • I used one of those but it loses suction quickly.  I had a handheld rechargeable vacuum but that won't turn on this year.  It only worked last year and I spent a good amount of money to have it work only 10 times.  I was hoping to get it fixed.  I may bring it to a pool place and see if they can fix it.
