We are on day two of potty training. It is going relatively well. G goes on his own or I remind him. He sometimes starts to go but then can run to the potty. He has poo'd in the potty. I think we are on the right track and don't anticipate going back to diapers. At some point though we will need to leave the house again. I am rather nervous about running errands. On Sunday, we are supposed to drive to Riverside because my 91 year old grandma has some credits she wants to use and take us all out to lunch. Do I put him in a pull-up and take the potty chair along?
To the Y members, how well does he need to be trained to leave him at Childwatch? I fear he will be too nervous to tell anyone he has to go.
TIA for any advice.
Re: Potty training - where to go from here
I can only answer the Y question. I work at Walnut Creek but I'm guessing it's similiar at Waukee too.
Let the employees know that G is potty training and bring extra pants. You can even have them ask him if he needs to go 30 minutes in (or whenever). We aren't allowed to help him but we can unbutton/button his pants and help watch hands.
We have alot of kids come in that are working on potty training, so it's no big deal. We also have our handful of accidents-we just go get the parent and let them know what happened.
