Crazy VA-MD tornadoes

I was in PA yesterday for a business meeting. There were reports of hail storms and tornadoes all up and down the I-95 corridor from Baltimore to Fredricksburg, which is exactly how I was planning to get home. I left the meeting an hour early and drove west all the way to WV and got another hotel room. Call me shallow, but I just wanted to take a hot bath and watch Survivor, and not get my nice truck all beat up by hail.

It should be safe to drive home tomorrow! Who else is in the storms path? At least I scored some stuff at Nordstrom Rack before I evacuated!

TarHeels&Rebels

I actually spent about 45 minutes today in the downstairs bathroom (the safe spot) with the dogs.  The weatherman streaming on my laptop was going nuts!   The sky was green, marble-size hail fell (grapefruit-sized in the next town over!), winds were 50 MPH.  On the radar map, my neighborhood was marked with purple precip at one point.  Craziness.  Friends who are teachers spent two hours in the school auditorium with their students.

There was hail (I think) but I slept through it.  The dogs came upstairs to hide - they usually sleep downstairs on their beds.  But we were supposed to get 1-2 inches of rain so I didn't water my pots, and this am they were bone dry.  What a tease.
