Ok Michiganders...Michiganians...citizens of Michigan.
Frank and I have been in Michigan for almost 3 years and we'll probably be moving out of state in the next year or so, so we want to explore some areas this summer! Any great recommendations for weekend/day trips? I've always wanted to go to Mackinac Island (and I just learned that the c is silent...I've been saying Mackinack and getting weird looks), and I was thinking about going over the 4th, but the hotels had a rule that you had to book at least 2 or 3 nights...is there enough to do there for us to stay that long? Any other places we have to check out? TIA!
Re: Ok Michiganders...Michiganians...citizens of Michigan.
I was going to suggest the opposite actually. I LOVED staying on the island because at night when the ferry stops running there aren't tourists everywhere and it is so incredibly peaceful. The little bars have live music and it is just really relaxing without all the hustle and bustle. Mackinaw is great.
