More reasons I love coconut oil

I use it on my skin at night.. I just showered and I slathered it on my newly shaved legs, my arms, and my face.  Does such a great job moisturizing - but even more -

I love that it is unscented, that I don't have some cloying moisturizer on my face.

And I love that after I apply it to problem areas on my face, I run my hands over my face - I don't have to worry about it getting on my lips or around my eyes.  So what if it gets on my eyelashes?  I bet if anything it conditions them.  And it is great on my lips - and no big deal if I ingest some!  (Ever read about how much in lip products the average woman consumes yearly?)

It's not like most of the night creams at the drugstore that warn not to get near your eyes..

Re: More reasons I love coconut oil

  • Someone put on the Sex and Romance board that coconut oil is a green alternative to lube. They said they discovered it after having bad reactions with most lubes on the market. I don't know if this really is a good use for it, I would have to check with the gyno about that, but if it is then coconut oil really is a product with many, many uses around the houseSmile

  • can you please share what brand you use?  Thanks
  • I use this one:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EO5Q64/ref=rcx_subs_dp

I do subscrivbe & save, and anything over $25 ships for free.  There are also diff size containers.  I use it on my skin, and in baking if I think of it (cookies, cupcakes, etc as an alternative to other oils).  If you plan on using it for cooking, just be aware that diff coconut oils taste diff - some taste like coconut and others don't (I think it is if it is virgin or not).

Tropical Tradition's website also has some good info, like benefits, uses, types, etc.

  • Do you use it on your face as a mousturizer after cleansing? I use it on my body, but have been afraid to use it on my face. Did you notice your face breaking out more or more oily while transitioning to using it?

  • I think LUSH has coconut oil in a lot of their products, have you tried their Queen of Ninevah soap? It's coconut soap that's not over powering, just fresh smelling.

  • It is super greasy, so I use it sparingly after I take a shower at night.  I haven't used it in the morning or under makeup or anything.  My skin is SO dry after showering, I haven't noticed any breakouts or anything.
  • I have been really interested in the benefits of oil lately.

I just read an article that explains that the best oils are cold pressed.
