The husband and I booked two nights in Lincoln City over Memorial Day weekend (which will be crazy busy, I know). I haven't done an overnight trip to the beach since I was in high school. We have the hotel set up, but I have no idea about food and things to do. He loves aquariums so we will definitely be doing that. So any recommendations for things to do and places to eat?

Re: Lincoln City
We've stayed Three times at the Looking Glass Inn (Nestie recommendation). And a few times at the Ocean Terrace Condos. Both we like very much. Ocean Terrace has a package you are able to get when you book that you get a chance to go make a glass float as a couple and keep it. It's really fun. The Aquarium is a hit, maybe whale watching would be fun, but I haven't done it since I was about 12. We like Andaman Thai in Lincoln City and Newport Rogue Ale house for eats near the aquarium. There's the outlet stores in Lincoln City...Tide pools in the morning... hmm..... what else....?Oh, on your way home you can take 101 north. Stop in Pacific City and hit the Pelican Brewery, then hit Tillamook and go to the air museum. Here's some info on the Lincoln City area.
HTH!
There's also the Hatfield Marine Science Center (http://hmsc.oregonstate.edu/visitor/) and Newport historic bay front (sea lions, restaurants, candy shops). I second driving 101 one way, if you weren't planning on doing that already.
For upscale, Salishan's restaurant is delicious. For simple, go to Mo's. Lol, and there's a McMenamin's in Lincoln City, if you get homesick
