Silly Question

Will cough drops help with the tickle in my throat?  I would think so right?

I'm not sure if I have a cold or allergies - but I'm dying!  My eyes are watering - my eye makeup is all gone right now - I'm sneezing and have a runny nose and an itch in my throat that makes me cough from time to time.

My head hurts and all I want to do is go to sleep until this goes away.

Re: Silly Question

  • Maybe the menthol in them might clear up the itchiness in the throat and eyes.  I hate that feeling.

  • Oh no! It sounds like allergies. I am sorry you are feeling crappy. Allergies have been kicking my butt this week as well. For the tickle, I have a spoon full of honey. It usually does the trick.

I'm not sure the cough drops would help, but anything it worth a shot. That tickle can be super annoying!

  • I would hold off on the menthol unless its really bad.  Part of how it works is that it kind of burns off the nerve endings - which gives you temporary relief, but makes it take longer to heal in the long run.  Try un-mentholated (& sugar free if possible) cough drops to start to see if just coating your throat helps.  Of course, it doesn't always work well enough so you may have to resort to the mentholated.
