Forgive me, I'm coming up with any excuse not to clean my house today...
1) The new chicken fajita spring rolls from Lean Cuisine are flipping fantastic (for lean cuisine-type food). But it kind of defeats the lean-ness of them when I eat 2 servings and dip them in sour cream :-( (but man, they are really good!)
2) No good deed goes unpunished. Yesterday, Warner and I were out for a walk and I noticed that one of our neighbor's garage doors was open and it didn't look like anyone was home. We've had a streak of petty theft in the neighborhood, so I figured that he probably didn't leave it open on purpose. I knocked on their front door just in case someone was there (they weren't) and on my way down their front steps, while carrying Warner (because he was being 2 and refused to walk), I slipped and twisted my ankle and I think pulled (or did something to) a muscle in my thigh. I've been doing pretty well with my C25K program, but there's no way I'm doing any running today, my ankle and thigh are really sore. I'm fairly certain that I didn't do any real damage because my ankle isn't swollen and doesn't look bruised at all, but it's quite uncomfortable. Woe is me.
3) Why is it so hard to find comfortable flats? I went to DSW and tried on those Pumas that I posted about last week and my feet are just the wrong shape for them. My toes were all cramped, but when I went a size up, the heel was too loose.
4) There's part of me that wants to wear my wedding dress and veil to watch the royal wedding tomorrow. And honestly, I kind of wish I'd planned a wedding viewing party wear everyone wears their wedding dress...(I mean, mine would be indecently tight, but I'd rock it anyway!)
Re: random musings
oooh sorry to hear about your ankle - I hope it gets better quick!
I LOVE this idea - though I sold my wedding dress (and if I hadn't, I probably would have burned it over the last month or two)... I'm debating waking up early to watch the big event - just for fun. Union Jack's in Bethesda is opening at 530am for the wedding and is serving $10 bottomless mimosas and bloody marys... I wish that I had a lush friend who would take the day off to come with me!!
(Any takers???)
I'm with you on the uncomfortable flats. Seriously, all the ones I try on rub my feet in weird places. Speaking of the Pumas, I saw a woman wearing a pair this weekend and of course I thought, "BH from the Nest is getting those shoes!"
Here's a random story to add to your musings:
I was working in my backyard yesterday and I looked up in my neighbors tree and there was a GIANT raccoon sleeping on a branch! I know that a raccoon isn't that exciting, but I've seen this big guy around the 'hood before and I've always wondered where he goes during the day. He was straddling a branch and all four legs were hanging down while he snoozed. I don't know why, but I was fascinated.
We're having a British-themed potluck/tea at work tomorrow, and two of my coworkers are going to wear their wedding tiaras. (I did not and will not wear a tiara but am jealous of the silliness. Wearing my chapel-length veil in the office seems... absurd.)

This could possibly have been the best nestie GTG ever - no shame over how ridiculous your dress looked, just full-on wedding geekery. (I'm kind of imagining that scene from Friends where they're all wearing wedding dresses, only less embarrassing). Even better if mimosas were involved - what a missed opportunity . . .

Ugh, I wish. I'm WFH tomorrow because our air conditioner broke, so it will just be me, the dog, and maybe mimosas. You can come over for mimosas if you want to swelter with me.
Stand up for something you believe in.
OMG, Wines, I was totally thinking the same thing! (I still have my dress- it was a cocktail dress this time around, so... yeah) But my veil -- it's just begging to be worn again!
"What is a week-end?"
I know people hate them, but I love, love, love my TOMS. They are like wearing slippers all day, and are more supportive than one would think. I would wear them all day, every day if I could.
You and the pup are welcome to come hang in my a/c
I've got fixins for mimosas AND bloody marys!
DON'T TEMPT ME. lol. Otherwise the day I give my 2 weeks notice at work may end up being my last day.
I still have my wedding hairpiece (it wasn't a tiara, but a sparkling headband-ish piece). I'm so tempted to wear it to work, but I think my coworkers will think I'm crazy (if they don't already).
Eff it. If I can wake up at 3:30am to watch this, I'm rocking it tomorrow for work

Even better!!!
I love all 3 varieties! The chicken fajita is my fave, closely followed by the thai chicken and then the garlic chicken. I think it's perfectly acceptable to eat BOTH servings at one time
