I'm doing a study in one of my classes and we're trying to find a really ghetoo/lower class mall. I'm newer to california and i'm just wondering if anyone knows of any obvious malls that have a general lower socioeconomic shopper status. Thanks!
For example, Fashion Island and the Beverly Center are high socioeconomic status centers
Thanks girls!
Re: good/bad malls?
Panorama
high scale: South Coast Plaza/ Fashion Island
low scale: Westminster Mall (has a Target!!! WTF???)
Panorama mall, definitely.
Eagle Rock Plaza,
Montebello town center?
Fallbrook mall in West hills/Canoga Park is way ghetto !!!!!!
Del Amo Fashion Center...southside of mall south of macy's...according to my husband "no name boutique stores, and a subteranian bomb shelter Burlington Coat Factory" equals very ghetto !
Fox Hills Mall, Carson Mall (where Ikea is) are both on the low socioeconomic scale.
I'll have to disagree about Del Amo though, it's picked up quite a bit, since it was bought by Westfield. I mean they do film 90210 there. Sheesh ;-)
The Panorama Mall is pretty ghetto.
DH says Fox Hills and Montebello are bad.
FYI: Fallbrook mall(in west hills) is no longer an actual mall. It's more of an outdoor shopping center. While it is still a little ghetto, it's a million times better than it was in the 90s.
Take a look at Topanga Westfield. It's got a good b alance of higher end stores(Coach, Nordstrom's, Cartier), mid-range stores, and 'lower'end stores(a TARGET!).
