Allergies vs a cold. How do you know?
This probably sounds stupid, but I am suffering!
Could it be possible that I am suffereing from allergies and am just brushing it off as a cold?
Symptoms: Runny nose (won't stop!), sneezing, headache, itchy throat, achey all over.
I have taken Nyquil at night the past 3 nights and it has really helped me sleep. But when I am awake I feel like crap. I usually take Tylenol for the headache and body aches. But I'm wondering if I should maybe try an allergy medication?
Re: Allergies vs a cold. How do you know?
I think if you're achey, than it's not allergies. I'm not expert though.
Do you typically have seasonal springtime allergies?
Whatever it is, hope you feel better soon!
A Dr once told me the only way to know is if your husband comes down with the same thing 3 day later it is a cold.
That said, I know Scott is suffering from allergies really bad right now. The OTC allegra-D has been a life saver for him.
Allergies usually dont respond to cold medicine, and if they do it is a short term fix. I'd try an OTC allergy med for a week or so (zytrec, claritin) and see if it helps.
Feel better!
So funny, because Mike just called and said he is sick. So I guess we are just prone to colds this year.
This winter has been absolute hell when it comes to sickness for us.
I have allergies, so it seems like I've been sick since January. Darn booger picking kindergarteners ;o)
The achy feeling is not a symptom I've ever had with allergies. I hope for your sake it's a cold and not allergies. Allergies suck. Colds go away.
