Interview next week

I'm really excited I have an interview next week. I don't know if the job will be a good fit (requires HS Diploma w/experience; I have experience and am working on my Master's). But it's something I'd be good at - I just hope the salary is in line with my expectations.

Re: Interview next week

  • Whats the job for?  If you are overqualified, in this economy thats not terrible.  Especially if the company is small, there is room for improvement.  I got an entry level job about 2 years ago with a bachelors and CS exp.  I'm now in upper management making $10k more than what I was hired at.

  • I don't want to convince myself I don't want it yet - but I do want to be realistic that I might get bored.

I have a job now, and while I'm not happy here, at least I know what I'm unhappy about - if that makes any sense.

This new company is equally far, except that I wouldn't be able to take public transportation or commute with DH any more. So there are definite drawbacks. Oh - and the co requires suits w/jackets every day. I like to dress pretty casually. Huh?

  • Ok automatically I know I wouldn't be happy there! Dressing up in my office means my boss wears a shirt with no stains, and I wear heals with my jeans.  It's a hard life, I know, but someone has to live it ;)

Is it a company that you would be able to grow with?  Or would it be a job that you would semi resent from the beginning and grow to hate even more over time?

This is what I don't know. It's a huge company so there's definitely room to grow. But I don't know what it's like on the inside -- I've heard mixed things about working there.

I'm getting ahead of myself. I only have a first interview. haha

  • Well good luck on the first interview, hopefully if this isn't the one for you there will be one soon
