) Perhaps it is only funny to me though, haha. Anyway, I went yesterday and picked up the basement rug that I posted about a while ago. I am just "borrowing" it right now, and can either keep it and buy it, or return it to the store (awesome program through Hagopian, by the way).
What say you? Too busy? I thought it might be at first, but it is really growing on me. It kind of conflicts with the patterned bins on the white shelf behind the couch, but I can always put those on the bottom row of shelves out of view. And of course, there is the patterned wall. I didn't think to take a photo from the other direction with the wall in the background, sorry.
Oh, and you get to see the "new" (refurbished) coffee table and the stacked media tower in there too. )

Mara, I totally agree with you on the rug. When I first saw your pics I said to myself that it was way too busy, but the more I look at them the rug is starting to grow on me in your space. I say definitely keep the rug.
Regarding the table, I love it as silver and I would leave it that way. i think black will be too harsh and the silver gives it a little pop.

I love the rug! I do not think it's too busy and for what it's worth I have become a lover of mixing patterns. I also love the table silver, I would not paint it black or yellow. Silver is the way to go.
ETA - I would mix in some silver accents on the shelves behind the couch!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that rug! I would keep the table silver as well (we have that coffee table with our basement furniture!). As PP said, the black might be too harsh.

I love all of it. I def like the table silver, I would maybe do black but for sure not the yellow. You guys did an amazing job and you really pulled your vision together so well.

Love the rug. I think it's the perfect size, and anything smaller would look off. The rug should ideally tuck under the chairs/couch a bit anyway, so you're good. I think the table in silver is perfect. It makes it light and airy enough to balance the heaviness of the couch. I think the black would be too heavy, and the yellow would just be too much.
