 What have you found are necessities to have in your diaper bag?

And give me some random nicknacks that I might not ever think of, but you couldn't live without.

aside from the obvious:

-pacifier wipes.  i made fun of them when i got them at my shower but i keep buying them.  they are perfect for when she drops her toys, etc... there are so many times i'm not near anywhere to wash her stuff so these are great. they have them at BRU.

-travel size hand sanitizer

-pen and pad

-book/magazine for when you are stuck in the car while the baby is sleeping.

I don't carry a purse, I just use my diaper bag so:

• Extra clothes for baby/socks
  
• Extra Bib
• Gum/Tic Tacs
• Tissues
• Pad/Tampon 
• Pen/tablet
• hand sani
• lotion
• wipes
• diapers for some reason I use all of mine and forget to replace!!
  
• Now that she is older, snacks
• chapstick

That's all I can think of right now.

I also like the little bags to put dirty diapers in when I can't throw them out right away.

It's mostly toys. Besides that there are a few diapers, a pack of wipes, a roll of dirty diaper bags and a changing pad. Oh and a back up outfit, though I've been worse about that since she got older and stopped having blowouts. I also carry snacks, but they're usually perishable (cheese, fruit, etc) so I pack those before we head out.

I don't have anything new to add, I carry all if that. lol. the snacks for me were soil helpful early on because I didn't get to eat if we were heading out because I was so busy getting him and everything together so the granola bar and raisins I kept were helpful.

Ooh, snack for you at first is a good one Summer! I used to get so hungry, bc I'd be so worried about him or even with breastfeeding I would need to snack on something.

I use to keep pop tarts in the bag for me. I would always forget to eat before we would go out.

yeah i always kept granola bars.

i also like to keep an extra empty bottle. one day i grabbed a bottle from the fridge and it ended up just having a the screw lid on it and no nipple (i do this when i don't have a complete bottle made and i need to add more at my next pumping session). i had to hightail it through the mall so i could go nurse her in the macys lounge.  this is rare of course but it was one of those 'live and learn' moments.

i also agree with the extra outfit but more importantly, a shortsleeved onesie and an extra sweatshirt or something.  the weather is whacky sometimes and i've had to change her while out into something warmer or colder.
