Hi!
This is my first year with herbs and have them potted. I have basil, parsley, chives, oregano. I know the basil isn't ready but how to you know when the others are ready to be harvested? I've been looking at pictures and the parsley looks like it could be ready but I just don't know. Any guidelines to go by?
Re: Herb Newbie
basil can be used pretty much at any time. The smaller leaves taste better than the huge ones IMO. Parsley I usually wait til the leaves are the size of a nickel before I cut it.
chives and oregano and other herbs are usually ready to use right away. The more you cut back, the more they will grow
