Has anyone read the book?

I'm reading it right now, and it is amazing. It is so well written. 

I have never seen the movie and don't know if I intend to or not- it's over 1000 pages, I just don't know how all that goodness could be represented in a movie.

I've read it several times and obviously love it. First read it in junior high. Despised the movie. It wasn't normal length, so they fit a lot more than you'd think, but they turned Scarlett from a strong survivor into a flat out b!tch.

I watched most of the movie with my mom once...wasn't that impressed, so never read the book. Guess I'll read it now!

That's the main reason I don't want to watch it- I cannot handle other people's interpretations.

Yeah, I get pissy about that too. If I care less about the book, the movie doesn't bother me quite as much, though.

the book is amazing! definitely one of my favorites! when you're done, find the sequel, written by another author, called Scarlet. it continues where GWTW leaves off.

i loved the movie, but it doesn't come close to the book (as is usually the case)

Umm....I think I read the book in high school.  It sounds so familiar.  I think I'm going to have to re read it!!
