Need GI doctor recommendations

I was in the hospital last Thursday with sever abdominal pain. They found some inflammation in my intestines. Long story short, they think I probably have Crohns or Colitis (it runs in my family). Any suggestions for a good GI doc in RI (preferably Prov area)? The one that my family uses that they like is in Boston and I don't want to travel that far. Thanks.

DH had a bout of pancolitis a couple of years ago. The Kent County Hospital ER referred him to John Cribb in East Greenwich (office is on Route 2, just south of Division St and the cinema). DH seemed to like him, and I liked how thorough he was in explaining the results of the colonoscopy, since DH was still a little loopy from the drugs. I also liked that they did the colonoscopy in the same medical building as his office, and we didn't have to go back to the hospital for it.

Hope it's not Crohn's or Colitis!

He's really nice. I had to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy back in February and he was fantastic at explaining everything to me and helping me relax and feel comfortable, as I was a nervous wreck (and a bit self conscious).

My uncle had a gastroenterology practice years ago. Before he retired, he had partnered with Dr. Kirschner. Members of my family have continued to see Dr. Kirschner.

This is the place where my DH had the same 2 procedures in Feb/March.  He sees Dr. Theodore Palumbo.  I met him when I picked DH up for the endoscopy, and he seemed like a nice guy.  He even called us on a Sunday when DH was waiting for the colonoscopy results, because DH had called on the Friday before but the doc was on vacation.  (of course it scared the *** out of me because he had left a msg and we weren't home at the time, so I assumed it was bad news... but thankfully all was okay!).

I've also used University Gastroenterology, seeing Dr. William Chen.  He was great, very thorough, nice guy, good sense of humor.
