Re: Post-Wknd; how was it?

  • Minus being sick, it wasn't too bad.

Friday: We went out to dinner and a few "country" bars with another couple, had a good time catching up with them, he is a riot and always laugh a ton when we are together.

Saturday: I had to work until noon. Then we had a wedding to go to, it was very nice, but started about 40 min late because one of the groomsman had a bloody nose that they couldn't get to stop, had to come out and get a doctor from the sanctuary to go help. Then we went with the same couple from Friday to MMA Fights that they were having locally. We live in the same area that Pat Miletich (one of the founders of MMA) is from so we have fights here quite often. One of my good friends from school was fighting so I was excited to go watch him.

Sunday: I am usually working but had off due to a new computer system we are getting at work this week and my boss needs me there on Tuesday, which is normally my day off. We spent the day finishing up cleaning out my parents basement for our garage sale this week. So glad that is done!

I am glad to be at home relaxing and trying to get rid of this crap that has now settled in my chest. YUCK!!

  • The weekend was pretty tiring. I'm ready for the next one.

DH's parents are going to be selling the house he grew up in, so on friday afternoon we drove to NJ and spent saturday packing up a UHaul van with all of his childhood stuff, and drove it back saturday afternoon. We then spent the rest of the day saturday and most of yesterday unpacking, dropping a bunch off at goodwill and dropping a bunch off at my parents house to store for a few months until we have our own house & basement.

I got in an 8 mile run sunday with my dad which was good, now I can taper for my next half marathon coming up in 2 weeks. we also went to my parents for a cook out which - this was a nice break from the messy apartment.

we finally got everything situated and cleaned up by the time we went to bed yesterday but really didn't have any time to "relax" the entire weekend. bummer.

  • It was so low-key. Next weekend is crazy for us, and I work the whole weekend after, so we wanted to just relax.

Saturday morning, we had a lesson with the dog trainer. Then I went out and got a haircut, grabbed a Zipcar, and we ran errands all afternoon.  Saturday night, we got take-out and watched Morning Glory, which was better than I expected.  Yesterday, we walked to the grocery store in the morning, and then hung out all day. I was trying to catch up on tv (we're way behind on The Killing and The Borgias), but there was a Celtics game on and a Red Sox game, so we only watched one episode each.  But it was our 7 month-a-versary, so we had a nice bottle of wine and some mac & cheese lasagna for dinner, which was awesome.

And now it's Monday, and I'm cranky, and I kind of want to kick someone. Bleh.

  • This was the longest weekend in awhile for us, in a good way!  For once it seemed like the weekend just kept on going and going, and by Sunday morning we had trouble remembering what we did Friday night.  Love when that happens!

Friday - We went to the play "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" and it was awesome.  The characters were great and it was very funny.  We didn't know it but apparently it was for a fund-raiser for Broadway Musicals (as this show was) so we were able to contribute to that.  It was a great time and something way different then we're usually doing so well worth the $15 lol

Saturday - we both popped up and got to work in the yard by 8.  We did so much stuff to get the front and back yards ready for the gorgeous weather.  I hedged everyyyything, he cut the grass, I power-washed the shutters he did the weed-wacking, we bleached the gutters, cleared out my "sanctuary" in the wayyy back yard and put out my chimes, etc.  We set out the outdoor rug and both patio sets.  We got the flowers beds alllll prepped for planting (probably two weekends from now) and got the black mulch so we can lay it after we plant.  We also have a barn coming (from my grandfathers house) and getting a tree taken down so the yard will be changing again soon!

That night we went to a beef and beer to raise $ for my brother's softball league.  They had a lot of prizes, good food, great music.  I got to see a ton of people that I don't normally see so it was great.  [I saw a ton of my xBFs friends, which was awkward to say hello, then intro them to my H..ugh] They also donated 1/2 the proceeds to a father and son that are both in critical condition after a car accident about a month ago.  Overall it was a very nice event.

Sunday - We got up around 730 again so we cleaned a little inside, then headed right outside and laid in the sun.  We were out there from around 10-330.  It was sunny, but breezy so we didn't realize how much sun we were actually getting - and yea, I'm sunburnt today! Embarrassed

We had dinner at my parents as usual and it was so yummy.  We clipped all our coupons there and saved $39 at the grocery store, which we are very proud of lol  When we got home we cooked our lunches for the week together then hopped in bed for the Phillies game.

    It was a great weekend!

  • Mine was busy, I have been looking forward to going to bed tonight since I got up this morning.

Friday I spent the day in the gym decorating for prom, 8 am - 9 pm.  I could have left for home then, but the person who was delivering our inflatables for after prom was running "a little late" (meaning 3.5 hours late) so we didn't get to leave until 10 pm (home at 11 pm).

Saturday I arrived at school at 3 pm.  Prom started with dinner at 6:30 then dancing until 11:30 pm.  After prom was from 11:30 to 4 am.  I got in bed a little after 5 am.

Sunday I had prom clean up at 11 am.  Then I took a nap.  We finished the weekend by going out for dinner and ice cream.

Eighth Anniversary 5000 Comments 500 Love Its First Answer

We spent Saturday and Sunday painting our bedroom and ensuite. The ensuite was an "unhealthy baby poop" colour, so we changed it to a light grey.  The bedroom was two different tones of brown that weren't awful, but also weren't what we wanted. We did a darker grey, like a steel colour, in the bedroom with a dark purple feature wall.  I plan to make a tall black fabric headboard for that wall once I get some yard work done.

Saturday night we went to a friend's house to watch the UFC fight and my beloved Georges St-Pierre Wink

  • Friday - My parents drove to MI from NY with the uHaul trailer (my dad has a pickup truck that can haul the biggest trailer).  Mom helped me finish up packing.  DH took apart some furniture.  Dad sat on the couch watching royal wedding footage and drank some beer hehe.

Saturday - Was a very long day!  We were up at 6am to pack the trailer.  Boy we have a ton of stuff, but almost everything fit in the trailer.  My roomie inherited a couple of bookshelves that didn't fit.  Then we drove back to NY and unloaded the trailer into my parents' garage since we are still waiting for the lawyers to figure out the title issues so we can close on our house.  My parents' live 3 miles from the house so we can move things over a bit at a time.

Sunday - Was a recovery day from the rest of the weekend
