Does anyone have a Gazebo?

Like this one (not sure if I'd get one at Target, but you get the idea...). We had a patio set and left the umbrella up at the end of the season last year during a storm, it lifted the entire glass table and shattered everywhere. What a nightmare!

My question is whether something like this is prone to being tipped over in the wind. It would sit on a paved patio, so I don't think I could anchor it... at least not all four sides... WDYT?

Yes, it is highly susceptible to being blown over. And invariably, it will come crashing down on the most prized, exotic and expensive plant in your garden.

  • I actually just saw an ad on our local Craig's List for that same gazebo minus the top because someone left it up during the winter and the snow collapsed the top.

I don't think I would try something like that without anchoring it.  And I think it would be a pain to take down for storms or winter (and look weird sitting there with just the frame and no top because who wants to store something that big each winter?).
