New to L.A. area - need to find OB! :(

Please recommend your OB/Gyn and/or the best hospital in the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena area to have a baby!

DH, DS and I will be relocating to the Los Angeles area (Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, South Pasadena - somewhere in that area) by the end of 2008, and I'm currently 17 wks pg and need to find a new OB and hospital in that general area -  it's a daunting task to try to find a good practice/hospital from 3000 miles away.

Any info you can provide would be most welcomed :)

TIA

Re: New to L.A. area - need to find OB! :(

  • Dr. Samantha Han in Burbank. She is great! She's very mellow and down to Earth. Her number is 818.846.8981. She delivers at St. Joseph's. It was such a wonderful hospital. They have private birth and pp rooms. The staff is fantastic.

  • There are hospitals in..

Glendale - Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Verdugo Hills Hospital

    Burbank - Providence St. Joseph

    Pasadena - Huntington Memorial

San Gabriel (Very close to Pasadena) - San Gabriel Valley Medical Center

Arcadia (Very Close to Pasadena) - Arcadia Methodist

All are good. ?I only know my OB -

Thomas Yamamoto -?Facey medical - 626-576-0800, he practices out of San Gabriel. ?It is close to pasadena/south pasadena. ?I live in Pasadena.

    Good Luck?

  • Thank you SO MUCH for this information :)

Now I just have to figure out if we can get by with Cigna HMO or if we need the PPO... sigh..

  • Just as an FYI, Huntington Memorial (located in Pasadena) only accepts PPO patients.  So, if you find a doctor that you like that only works out of that hospital, then you will need the PPO.

I've heard Osterkemp in Glendale (Verdugo Hills Hospital) is good.  I'm thinking of switching to her.
