Church recs?

Hey ladies, I know I dont post too much on here... but I do lurk quite a bit. LOL.

My DH and I currently do not to go church. He grew up in a pretty strict church environment growing up while I did not. My family went on and off to a bible church (east valley bible church), while his family is pentecostal.  No offense to anyone, but I do not wish to go to the church his parents/family goes to (and he doesnt either)

I guess I am wanting to try out a few different churches to see what I feel comfortable with. That being said, I am pretty lost what to look for in a church, or even what the differences are between churches (ie: Catholic, Lutheran).

Can anyone recommend their church and kinda give me a little background about it?

We live in east mesa near superstition springs mall and would like to stay pretty close.

TIA!

I have been going to Mission Church in Gilbert (off of Power/Elliott).  They have 3 services on Sunday - 9:00, 10:30 and 11:59.  Their website is mission68 dot org.  The website gives you the background on the church and you can listen to some sermons. They are non-denominational and the services are non-traditional (contemporary).  It?s a huge change from what I grew up with, I was Presbyterian and we very sitdown and traditional.  So far DH and I love Mission.

  • i totally recommend mission community church. Like Brenda mentioned. They are great and its so non threatening. I'm not a die hard church goer but when I go Mission is the church I'm most comfortable with.

also if you like music their worship team is amazing

  • I was going to recommend EVBC (now called redemption) but you don't want to go there (I'm assuming the main campus) What about Redemption Gateway (they meet at Perry high school and there services are at 830 and 1030 and they have childcare).

They are a very good church, solid Bible teaching and good music and lots of opportunities to get plugged in!

  • I have heard great things about Mission church!!  I've attended a few Sunday's there and really do enjoy it!!  Another church I used to attend (and still really love) is Central Christian Church!!  We moved to a closer church for us, so that is why we don't attend there anymore.  I have also heard that The Grove (?) is a really good church.

Ultimately, find a church that works for what you and your family are looking for.  There are a lot to choose from!!
