Ugh! I'm staying home today for my second sick day in a row. Flippin' stomach flu. As a teacher, it's hard to stay home one day, let alone two in a row. I told DH that even if I have to tie a bucket around my neck, I'm going to teach tomorrow. I almost went in today, but I still have a decent fever and whatnot, so DH told me that he'd call my school himself if I didn't stay home. And my puppy thinks that mommy is home to play with him, not to rest. I keep getting a stinky, stuffed squirrel with 3 missing legs shoved in my face... barf.
Re: Sick Day... Again
Ick! I'm sorry you're sick. Being sick as a teacher stinks even more...most people don't understand just how much work it is to take a sick day as a teacher. Kinda funny you posted this today b/c one of my local new stations just did an article about teachers taking sick days. I should actually call it more of a tabloid than an article really b/c most of it was opinion rather than fact...it was quite ludicrous. Here's the link to read it...read at your own risk...http://www.nbc12.com/story/14558932/millions-of-dollars-spent-on-substitute-teacherscentral-virginianbc12-investigates#
But anyway...sorry for the rant. I hope you're feeling better soon and are able to get through the damage control of missing school quickly! :-)
