So, this Sunday DH and I had plans for a late brunch for Mother's Day. I KNEW if we didn't take plans early his mom, etc. would take over the holiday. Last week his Aunt, who I really like and is DD's Godmother, invited us over to a BBQ. We hemmed and hawed and decided we would go, deliver cards etc. He writes her back, saying that we have plans , but we'll stop by. Everyone starts writing and asking what they can bring. It gets sent back to he and I asking what we'll bring. he writes back and says we can bring a little something, but keep in mind that he'll be doing the work since it's Mother's Day and I have the day off

Such a good hubby. She writes him back and asks him to bring 2-3 pounds of chicken. The Meat House has great marinated chicken, as does Hannaford's, if Maeghan doesn't feel like making anything. Dude! We're stopping by and you ask us to bring the main dish? WTF?
Re: The nerve
Drop off a 20 piece box of chicken mcnuggets.
WTH is wrong with people?!
Love this!
Brilliant!!!
Seriously, why on earth would they ask you to be in charge of a main dish after your DH had made it clear that you would only be stopping by??? Hopefully he's able to handle it and re-affirm that you're only coming in briefly, and they should make someone else responsible for the damn chicken!

MH got 3 chicken breasts from the meat house the other day and it was like $12. So I can only imagine what 2-3 lbs would be, definitely a "little" donation.
That is really nervy.
hehe yup. DH said he was surprised though, b/c this Aunt is usually so on top of it. Yeah, the Meat House. Sure! We treat ourselves there every once in a while and host a Xmass party where we get it, but you don't tell someone else to bring that to your BBQ!
Haven't talked to DH, other then the email where he said he was a little taken a back. He said,"whatever" so I'm assuming he is planning on buying chicken. Ugh! Now, I guess we're actually "going" to this thing. There goes my mothers day :P
