  • Yessss!  I didn't want to PW it up, but since you asked, here's how it went down:

I ended up giving them to him last night.  He was trying to make plans for something to do/somewhere to watch the Bulls game. He was going on and on and the whole time I'm thinking, what a waste of time to try to figure this out.

His sis had stopped by with some leftover Georgetown Cupcakes (mmmm! his mom surprised us and ordered them for our bdays since Ben said they're waay better than my fav cupcake. We had some while at SILs over the weekend and forgotten them there).

So when we went to eat them I stuck a candle in one and I said "I have a gift you should open early."  He said he didn't want to since it wasn't his bday yet so I said, "well it's something special for you to wear tomrw".  He took the bag and said, "this better not be a birthday shirt" and opened it. Inside was a Bulls shirt (I had to go to 3 stores to find b/c they were sold out everywhere!).  He said "cool, thanks, I'll wear it to the bar tomrw night but I can't wait it to work" and then I said "that's not all that's in there, look in the bottom of the bag" and there were the tickets.  He was completely surprised and is really excited! Success!!

Later I said I was debating putting the shirt in his bag for a surprise and he said he was glad I did it the night before.  Logistically it made more sense to do last night b/c he'll go straight from work to meet me for the game and would typically have a bookbag, but since he knew ahead, he could leave his bookbag at home.

Thanks for asking ladies and thanks for everyone's input planning!! Party!!!

  • Yay!!!  I'm so glad it went well!  I hope you guys have a great time!

And can I just say I think it's hilarious that he thought it was a birthday shirt???  What did he mean by that?

Haha, I know?! Like a blue tshirt with "I'm 25 today!) written in puffy paint or what?!
  • Haha!  Too funny!  I was thinking like what kids wear for their first birthdays - a shirt with a cupcake with a "1" candle in it or something...

    Seriously, though, have fun tonight!
