If you were a knottie with me back in the day you'll remember I had to have a glaucoma test because my cups were big. The test came back that I didn't have it - just had big cups (that's what she said).
I had my yearly eye appointment yesterday and the doctor was concerned because my cups are bigger - "shockingly bigger" she said. They ordered another test and my insurance is covering it.
I doubt I have it but it does concern me a bit that she knows my history and yet is still concerned enough to push the test again.
So just a reminder - get those eyes checked yearly! If I do have it - they're catching it early so it hopefully won't get worse. Once you notice on your own that something is wrong - it's too late.
Re: Glaucoma
P.S - Make sure they dilate your eyes at every appointment! That's how they check. Some eye places skip this step - make sure you request it!
I switched to my current place a few years ago and when she asked me when the last time I had it done I said I didn't know. She stressed that it always needs to be done.
Tarah,
I had glaucoma surgery already in my right eye. If you need a rec for a fantastic doc please let me know. Your eyes are not something to mess with at all. I'm glad you are getting further testing done. If you end up needing surgery or anything let me know, I can give you the run down on what to expect.

Thanks! I'm being optimistic and betting it comes back fine again but I am a tiny bit concerned over her concern. I go back on the 19th for testing so hopefully I'll know soon.
:mostly a lurker here:
That is interesting because my eye doctor told me when I was 22 to come back when I was 40...that my eyes are perfect.
Im 31 now..I wonder if I should go back and get them checked. T
hey def seemed "off" while I was pregnant, but they are back to normal now. I would hate for something to pop up and for me to miss it.
Good luck on your test.
