Girl: One of those kits (jewelry, art, whatever). My nieces LOVED those at that age.
Boy: a Nerf sword (found on the aisle with the nerf stuff). I've gotten this for several little boys and they all go wild over it for some reason. It's now my go-to gift for boys around that age that I don't know personal interests of.
This, boys love to beat up things.
How about a little nail polish set for the girl. I saw them at Sephora for like $7 the other day with 4 colors.
Boy: box of Legos.
Girl: box of Pink Legos.
