Dear Community,

I have a flowerbed in the front of our condo that gets maybe 2 hours of morning sun and is shaded the rest. Any ideas on things that would thrive there?!

Camellias. Jacob's Ladder, and Solomon's Seal are my favorites..
Solomon's Seal won't flower, but it has beautiful varigated leaves.
primrose (spring), Virginia bluebells (spring), bleeding heart (spring), columbine (late spring-summer), coral bells (summer), forget-me-not (springish), hostas (summer), woodland aster (fall), cyclamen (variety dependent), lamium and lily of the valley (spring, can be invasive)

Our shady spot has heuchera, solomon's seal (mine flowers in spring), hosta, bleeding heart and hellebore (evergreen, long lasting winter-spring blooms).
Is it moist or dry shade? You might try using a plant finder. Sunset's database tends to have interesting choices for western gardens.
"The meek shall inherit the earth" isn't about children. It's about deer. We're all going to get messed the fuckup by a bunch of cloned super-deer.- samfish2bcrab
Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
