America's Next Great Restaurant
**SPOILER ALERT**
Did anyone watch this series? I was thrilled the guy from Detroit won, I'm hoping he is able to open a restaurant around here.

It kind of threw me for a loop though. He didn't do healthy until the very last (or second to last) episode... Joey pissed me off. I actually though that SpiceCoast would win, but then he went and did a 180, making it exactly like Chipolte. The food sounded good though...

I think he won because he did healthy. I thought Spice Coast was going to win too until I heard the judges say his Indian food was too Mexican.
I thought Grill Billies would have been a fun idea too though.
I liked the idea of cutting the waffle in half to make the sandwich with it. Much "lighter" than two whole waffles.
DH went to school with "Soul Daddy" so we were extra excited to see him win. He cooks out of a house right now & takes orders so Saturday we had chicken & waffles. We thought he didn't win since he was doing his regular routine, he did a good job of not letting on.
It was delicious, btw
I had bacon waffles & wings.

That's so cool - he seems like a really great guy too - is he?
haha - yeah that was pretty cool. I'm glad Joey changed the name from Saucy Balls though - holy crap what a bad idea.
I got the feeling that Sadiar (sp?) and Stephanie from Harvest Sol were an "item" - or was that just me?
See this is what I think of when I think of soul food... It sounds AMAZING! But it's definitely not healthy... Maybe they can do the turkey bacon whole grain waffles and grilled chicken... It's just not the same, lol

hahahhaha, I didn't think that at all... There seemed to be a bit of an age gap, lol. But he kept talking about how his mom wanted him to get married!

They could make healthy food together... :-)

I thought Joey might have won, just because the judges seemed to really like the idea and push for it. There were so many weeks he was close to being eliminated. He probably spent more time in the bottom 3 than in the top. He made a big mistake in the end though with how he decided to serve his food.
Indian Food seems to be a love it or hate it thing. He'd probably have a great following from people who love Indian food, but I think it'd be tough to get those who've never tried it in the doors.
I was so happy to see Soul Daddy win! He just seemed like a great guy and I love his restaurant idea. I'm sure if the first 3 restaurants do well, we'll see them in MI
OMG I would catch it from time to time but always pulled for him. Yay
