DH is finally defending his PhD disseration in less than 2 weeks!! It seems likely that the inlaws will be coming down for the occassion. I definitely want to go out for dinner somewhere to celebrate that night b/c this has been a long time coming and I think it's a great accomplishment.
Any recs for dinner, probably in DC? There will probably be anywhere from 4-7 people and for the sake of the in laws, I would probably rule out more exotic cuisines. I want something fun and tasty and price isn't really a factor as long as it's not like $100pp. Thanks!
Re: Restaurant recs
hook is one of my favorites for special occasions. we first went on a whim and then for our dating anniversary in march.
if they like italian, acqua al 2 is great. you can do samplers of pastas, salads, and even their steaks or order individually (we've done a combo of both).
my ILs really liked founding farmers but DH & i were disappointed by our dinners and i think the service kinda blows considering that it's pricey.
other ideas:
blue duck tavern
old tabard inn
central
proof
FYI - Olives is closed.
Brasserie Beck, Cava (on Cap. Hill), Capital Grille, and Proof are a few other options.
Further proof that it's been years. I loved Olives. I guess I'll just get my fix in NYC and Boston...
