I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on nipple cream? I have heard mixed reviews on lansinoh so I was wondering what other ladies on here have used or are using.  

Also, a new development is some leaking on my right side but so far none on my left, is this normal?  Not to get to tmi but I have noticed a difference in the shape of the two nips and was wondering if this is normal and or a sign that I might have trouble on my left with breastfeeding because it doesn't seem to be as pronounced or changed in shape as much as the right one.  Will it continue to change through the rest of my pregnancy or is there something I can do now to help it?

I wouldn't worry about it, this will continue to change  and don't get freaked out.

I didn't even have any milk production until she was born and then it came in her 2nd day of life so it was fine. Some women start early (like you)

I just bought regular Lansinoh lanolin and used that. It worked great. 

As a bonus that is what we use on Lucy's bottom and it doesn't harm the CD's.

But I'm sure you could buy some boutique type nipple "butter" and be happy with that as well. I didn't need it for *that* long.

FWIW- I *just* yesterday bought a new tube of Lansinoh Lanolin- it lasted us 15 mo

No idea on the cream, but don't worry about your nipples  

Mine have gone through so many changes since the beginning of pregnancy, and most definitely don't always look the same.  I also have one side that leaks more than the other, and the one that leaks more actually leaks what I imagine to be colostrum (it's yellow) and the other leaks clear fluid...I'm a freak.  

Pretty sure we'll be fine though

No idea about the nip changes, but it is probably pretty normal. Be sure to see a lactation consultant when you are in the hospital to get assistance with latching on both sides to make sure it isn't an issue. I used the lansinoh lanolin too, but it was pretty thick and he was pretty rough on my nips that it hurt to even put it on. The LC I saw after he was a couple weeks old suggested I use motherlove nipple cream, much smoother application and safe for baby i didnt have to wipe it off before he fed, was a life saver. I bought it at sprouts although I saw it on amazon too.

I have the crusty stuff on the left and the leaking on the right! haha very odd.  It is all so much fun and I am loving every weird second of this pregnancy! I have been having issues with dry skin, it always happens this time of year so I just thought that I would start using the nipple cream now to keep the skin hydrated so it doesn?t turn into a bigger issue later KWIM.

Thank you all for the advice, I might try the motherlove stuff (I have to go to sprouts this weekend anyways) and see how it goes.  I was just wondering what the different options were so that if I don't like one or if i have issues with it I have a back up plan with another.

Girl you better get ready because they change FAST.  I was so surprised with how much they changed in the first tri. But it is alllll worth it in the end.

Not to mention the road map veins!  Sometime in the first tri mine suddenly were covered in dark blue veins.  Creepy.

I used Lansinoh. It did help, especially around day 6 when I cried at the thought of anything coming anywhere near them!! I only used it for the first few weeks, but now use it on N's face to help with the drooling from irritating his skin. I like that it's safe and I don't have to worry about it harming him.
