Re: jenhappy (Identical to post below. You read my mind.)

  • I'm so slow. I thought you were asking Britt about her dog and saying I read your mind bec I asked. lol

Thanks for asking! My parents' dog is ssssssssssstill in the hospital -- 2 weeks as of yesterday. He still seems to be tolerating the loss of the toe really well, but the foot still wasn't healing. They did a skin graft on Tuesday and put the vacuum bandage back on. They're going to change the bandage on Fri, and if it looks like the graft is healing, he should be able to go home. The pricetag is RIDICULOUS at this point. The other somewhat-scary thing is that they also noticed a lump on his lip that they "aren't worried about" (ummm you weren't worried about the one on his toe either... and that turned out just dandy..). But I think they're going to take an aspirate from the lip tomorrow when they have to have him sedated to take off the vacuum thing. I don't even want to think about the possibility of that being cancerous after all he's been through and the bills piling up. All I can do is hope, though!

  • LOL. I though that might have been what you thought so i changed it to say "parents."

Poor, pup! Sad I can't believe he's not home yet. Hopefully the skin graft will work & yay for him doing well without the toe!! I can't believe they're not concerned about the other lump. Especially with the behavior of these types of tumors! Of course that's probably because it looks completely benign which is good. It's definitely a good thing that they're going to aspirate it though & I'll cross my fingers and think happy thoughts for him while you await the results. Definitely don't let your mind go to a bad place. One thing at a time. I'm sure he's ready to be back at home with your parents!
