Flowers

As you can imagine, this Mothers Day (and every Mothers Day hereafter) is bound to be busy, and in preparation for that, we're actually having dinner with my mother and grandmothers on Saturday to free up some time on Sunday.

That being said, I want to buy flowers for Saturday night, but I don't want to be rushing around on Saturday day with everyone else on the planet.  I have today off, so I was going to try to get as much done with the time I have while I have it.

Do you think I could buy a bouquet of roses or some other floral arrangement today, keep them in water overnight, and have it still looking nice by tomorrow night?  Or should I just suck it up and wait til tomorrow so they're looking fresher longer?

Re: Flowers

  • I think if you put them in water and in the fridge you should be ok.

  • If you go to a reputable florist, they should stay nice and lively for up to 3 weeks! Get flowers that are still opening so that by sat/sun they start to really open.
  • I don't think it really makes a difference if you get the today or tomorrow. If you are really worried, what about getting some that are potted?

I was going to suggest this as well. I think you'll be just fine buying them today.

this. my roses usually last at least a week, even without putting them in the fridge. Cut off all the leaves that would be in the water, that will keep the water clean and roses like clean water.

My mother isnt one for watering flowers, which is why a bouquet of roses would be ideal.
