OMG! I would kill my husband...

A guy I went to high school with posted this on facebook

image

With the caption "Before and After! Wow what a great improvement!"

This is his wife. She has obviously lost some lbs, and kudos to her, but before and after pics on fb. Really?! Indifferent Maybe I'm alone in this, but around my place, heads would m-f-ing roll.

Re: OMG! I would kill my husband...

  • ohh yikes, yeah I agree!  I am glad he is proud of her and all and she looks great, but that seems like something she would post and not him...  I don't know, I wouldn't do it ether way but maybe she doesn't care?
  • Yeah, heads probably wouldn't roll around here, because instead of being angry I'd probably gain all my weight back eating away at my husband's lack of love. Really, if you're struggling with your weight and successfully lose it, then your husband posts B/A pics with that caption....I'd feel like he thought I was ugly when I was larger and was lying to me the entire time (oh, honey, you're gorgeous no matter what you weigh).

Maybe it's the caption that rubs me the wrong way. B/A pix may be slightly acceptable (to me at least) if the caption was at least "Look at my wife's hard work! Congratulations, sweetie!"

oh hell no. I would need diamonds-big ones-to make up for something like that. And probably tell my h that anytime he wants to post ANYTHING about me on FB that I get to "approve" it first.

    LOL!!!

And sarges, I agree with you....maybe if the caption were different it wouldn't seem soooo bad.

Yeah, I think it's all about subtext. "WOW! What a great improvement" translates to me as, "Look, my wife's not a cow anymore!!"

A better caption may be read a different way. And she really wasn't that overweight to begin with....

  • What an a$$hat. He could've said "I'm so proud of all your hard work" instead of great improvement!  Was she not good enough before?  This is making me really mad.

    Bahaha. I agree.

In this a$$hat's defense, I know they've been doing PSX30 or whatver it's called and some extreme diet together. So, I'm sure it's coming from a place of support. Still, this is unacceptable. I lost 30lbs before the wedding, and I look at pics from our engagement and want to gag. I certainly don't need everyone I (or worse he!) knows seeing a side-by-side comparison.

  • Talk about a back-handed compliment!
