Tuscaloosa Food Recommendations!!!
My DH, brother in law, his fiance and me are headed to the Alabama/ Ole Miss game Saturday! I haven't been to Tuscaloosa in 2 years!!! I was wondering what would be a good place to eat at before the game!!! Thanks in Advance!!
Re: Tuscaloosa Food Recommendations!!!
I love Mugshots for some good food and beer! They have good burgers, chicken sandwiches, fried pickles, etc. Mmm.... (it's downtown btw)
Are you looking for anything in particular? DePalma's is one of my favorites, but it's not really a pre-football game place
They usually have restaraunts that are selling on the quad if you want to hang out there and eat before the game.
Otherwise I'd 2nd Mugshots for game type food.
It depends on what kind of food you are looking for. Anything around campus or downtown is going to be PACKED before/after the game, so get there early!
If you are up for barbecue ribs, there is always Dreamland.. either the original down by Wal-Mart or the new one right across the bridge in downtown Northport. (The new one is larger and might be easier to get seats.)
I personally love Surin (thai food and sushi) although it's not your typical gameday kind of food. They have a new restaurant on the strip right across from the BP gas station.
I also like Steamer's, (seafood) which is big and has lots of seating. When it's nice weather outside they roll up their garage door walls to where it's open to the riverfront. They are next door to Dreamland in downtown Northport, on Bridge Avenue.
I would go to the restaurant immediately at 11. Hopefully it won't take too long to get a table early.
(Two weeks ago at the last home game all the roads around campus and downtown started to get congested as early at 10 a.m. for a 2:30 game!)
I really love the burgers at Rama Jama's and that is right next to the stadium. But, I don't think they serve beer. But they do have milkshakes!
Mugshots is a great place! There is always Crimson Cafe, Jimmy Johns...
Oh, and there should be the great barbeque stand next to the Houndstooth. You can get some awesome BBQ nachos and eat them on the patio at the tooth!
Or Wilhagen's is good to eat and watch other games while you are there.
